The wet season reaches its peak in August with a high probability of heavy showers. During this month, you will see rainfall breaking all its records. You will face problems in visiting the extreme North such as Phongsali and Muang Sing where heavy rain can make travelling around fairly difficult due to construction and infrastructure.
Despite of longer lasting rains, southern highlights such as the 4000 Islands remain accessible by boat, with the regions waterfalls (unsurprisingly) at their best, although those looking for rest and relaxation in the sun should consider the beaches of central Vietnam.
Despite overcast skies, the temperature is pleasant ranging 25-30°C. Humidity levels in July reaches 85%. The scenery becomes more and more beautiful thanks for the rainfalls.
