Before I decided to visit Vietnam, I had already travelled widely and even lived in numerous countries in Asia and Southeast Asia, but I must say that my 20 day trip exceeded my expectations! Having been a hotel manager in Cambodia, I could have easily reserved my own hotels and transport but from experience, I knew that the simplest thing can be derailed due to unforeseen circumstances and quickly become a logistical nightmare. Therefore, I quickly decided to book my trip with the help of a local travel agency. After a quick search and a few email and Skype exchanges, I chose Tonkin Voyage. They understood the wants and needs that I had for my trip while respecting my budget.

The itinerary, which was fairly classic, started in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta before traveling to Hue and continuing to Hanoi, with several days in the far north.

The Francophone guides and drivers were perfect: very professional, discreet, flexible, and friendly.

The hotels were well chosen, in particular our hotel in Hanoi.

The customer service team was always available by phone if we had the slightest problem or question.

In short, a great trip, thank you Tonkin Voyage! I will gladly recommend you.

From the Mekong Delta to Halong Bay in 20 days

Things have been hectic here with the start of the school year and our return to work, that’s why it has taken so long for us to send you our feedback about your trip with you. Better late than never!

First of all, we were completely satisfied by the itinerary that you prepared! We arrived in the South and then explored the central region, before finishing in the North. Despite our jam-packed program, everything when smoothly… the whole family was able to appreciate the richness and the beauty of your country thanks to your well organized and detailed itinerary. We want to thank you for the time that you spent organizing our adventure, taking into account our wants and always being available to answer questions.

You were able to craft a trip that delighted travelers both big (4 adults and 2 teenagers) and small (3 kids: 9, 8, and 5) with tours, cooking courses, boat rides, lantern making, bike rides, and down time....

The logistics side of our trip, including our guides, hotels, and transport, was also great and met our expectations.

We were able to sit back and leave you in charge but we always felt in control and informed thanks to your daily check-ups. We really appreciated that.

Taste of Vietnam in 22 days

We are a couple from Brittany, France, who were looking to visit Vietnam and Laos. We normally travel independently and make our own reservations but for Vietnam, we couldn’t do this because of the language barrier and the difficulty we were facing in renting a car as Europeans.

Since we were opposed to traveling in a tour group, we saw only one option: hire a car and driver, and a translator to help guide us and set up hotel reservations. During our search, we found a travel agency, based in Hanoi, called Tonkin Voyage, who offered exactly what we were looking for. However, we were unsure about foreign online travel agencies; we were worried about being taken advantage of.  

Well, we are home now, after a three-week trip to Laos and Vietnam and I can confirm that Tonkin Voyage organized a flawless trip, and provided a service that is hard to find in Europe.

The staff speaks French, and they listened to our needs. At the slightest hint of a problem they called us to keep us informed.

All of our cars, mostly SUVs, were well air-conditioned (we also got a bottle of water after each stop), very clean, and the drivers where always careful and professional. And the guides, all of them were excellent translators who knew how to tell the story of their country.

The total cost of the trip, including the service, the hotels, and the flight, was very reasonable.

So, for those of you looking to do a trip like this, you can be confident in your choice. We are 100% satisfied.

Voyage Vietnam & Laos in 17 days

Karole Wittmann gave me your email, regarding the wonderful trip to Vietnam that you prepared for us.

I wanted to write to you, but I was distracted by my preparations for my trip to Tahiti, where I have been for the past three days. 

The five of us (my two sisters and their partners, and I) were overjoyed with our trip, everything went so well. We were so pleased with everything from our guides greeting us at the airport, to our drivers, to the agency. The quality of the hotels and the meals we had in the different restaurants were all lovely. We don’t have critiques to give.

During our two cruises, on Halong Bay and the Mekong Delta, we experienced exceptional quality in terms of service and activates.

Our guides, Du Truong Huu and Van, were very professional and delightful, they gave great information, and their patience and ability to listen showed their professionalism. Thank you for assigning them to guide us.

Everything went according to plan and with no troubles at all, this has made us start thinking about a new trip, to Thailand, Laos or Cambodia, or Myanmar. We’re thinking about next year.

Naturally, I have been singing the praises of your work to my friends who are thinking about traveling your way. I have put them in contact with Karole.

Vietnam from Halong Bay to Phu Quoc Island in 16 days

Hello Ms Vy

We have not made it home yet, we are back in Thailand for another three weeks.  We do not get back to Canada until;  Kathy and Frank on 14 December, Elaine and I on 19 December. Elaine and I will not get home to Mexico until 29 December.

We would like to thank you very much for the work you put into setting up a wonderful tour for us. We had a great time.  We will recommend you and your company at any  and all opportunities that we get.

All of our guides became friends (we hope), and all of the drivers were very friendly and professional, we particularly liked our guide Hy in Hoian. Again we would love to have anyone of the guides show us more of your beautiful country.

As for you, Ms Vy, we did not get to spend as much time with you, that we would have liked. Elaine counts her day with you as her higlight of the whole trip, and there were many highlights.

As we are traveling yet, I am unable to download my pictures until we return home, I will definitely send some once I have done this.
