February marks the beginning of the transition into the rainy season and is the last “cool month.” Temperatures will range from the low 20s and low 30s Celsius (low 70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit) throughout the country.
Days in northern Thailand, including Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, will be warm and dry, but the nights can still dip to 10°C (50°F0). Bring a sweater if you’re trekking! In Bangkok and central Thailand things will start warming up, with daytime averages in the high 20s Celsius (low 80s Fahrenheit) and the chance of scattered showers increases as the month goes on.
Koh Chang and Ko Kood islands in Eastern Thailand may experience some rain shower, but the beaches are still great options to spend some time in the sun. The south will see average temperatures in the high 20s Celsius (low 80s Fahrenheit). The beaches of Phuket and the southeast, like Koh Samui, have excellent conditions in February with little rain and warm temperatures.
The warm and dry weather of February, coupled with the decrease in crowds from the western holiday season, makes Thailand in February perfect for visiting.
