October marks the end of the wet season and normally brings dryer and slightly cooler days as the rain and humidity decrease throughout the month
In Chiang Mai and the North, October is the beginning of “winter” and the average daily temperature is around 25 °C (77 °F). You will see locals out in their winter coats. The central region and Bangkok experience a significant decrease in rainfall as compared to September and things start to cool off slightly. In the East, especially along the Mekong River, rainfall is still frequent but it becomes lighter and less frequent.
Both the southwest and southeast coasts get lots of rain in October. Beaches throughout Thailand such as Koh Samui, Koh Chang, and Phuket are very wet this month.
