Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - Vung Liem (-/L/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we leave the bustling city of Saigon behind us and depart for the Mekong Delta known to locals as ‘Vietnam’s biggest rice basket’. Upon arrival, you will meet the owner and you are led to the lodge along countryside path. After just a short walk you will be treated to a welcome drink. Check in and have lunch at lodge's restaurant.
After a chance to rest, you walk around village paths leading us to home of Mr. Cong where you watch how he makes pop rice, shows you the blend of traditional and modern agricultural method that sustains the local village. He will reveal the secret of making 'rice pop'. This unique and nutritious foodstuff will become a gift for locals or children in school. Your guide explains how the animals are raised and shows you the way they collect 'biogas' to make free and sustainable cooking food.
Walk back to Lodge, select bicycles for a cycling tour in the afternoon on quiet village roads passing by a duck farm, green rice paddies, sedge field and small villages. Along the way, you visit one of the many dragon fruit plantations and taste it directly at the garden. This is a relaxing time with plenty of chances to capture the picturesque Asian sun set scenes. Enjoy the beautiful sunset before returning to the lodge on your bicycles.
After shower and refresh, you start to walk to neighbor home and enjoy a "poon" lights while traditional musical performance by war veteran artist. Then, experience of traditional torches made of dried coconut leaves to get back.
You are the chef! A traditional cooking class with Vietnamese pancake made. A great learning experience that means you can take a little of Vietnam home with you. Dinner is served at lodge's restaurant.

After having breakfast, we leave for Cai Be to embark on Song Xanh Sampan and begin cruising from Phu An Jetty at 10 :00am. From the sampan, observe life as it plays out on shore - people going about their daily activities against picturesque landscapes – while your attentive crew serves tea and seasonal fruit. Before arriving at Sa Dec, stop at various points along the river for a look into some of the cottage industries of the region including a brick factory where everything is made by hand, pass monkey bridges and tiny villages to visit Cao Dai temple.
Arrive in Sa Dec and stroll to the outdoor market. Visit one of the highlights of the charming town, the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, a real-life character in the celebrated novel and film « The Lover » by Marguerite Duras.
Lunch is served on board while cruising towards Can Tho along a narrow canal teeming with life. Explore the countryside surroundings by local rowboat.
Your last stopover before sunset is an ancient house Binh Thuy (“Nha Co – Binh Thuy” in Vietnamese), dating back to the 19th century. The owner will welcome you and a candlelit dinner is served in this authentic countryside setting. After dinner, return on board while the Song Xanh continues its cruise towards Hau River.

Rising early to the sounds of the Delta coming to life for another day, we have breakfast and start our day with a boat cruise along the seemingly endless waterway of Mighty Mekong River. We arrive amongst Cai Rang floating market, the biggest and most famous floating market in the Mekong Delta. View hundreds of boats which are packed with mango, bananas, papaya and pineapple, etc. all for selling, buying and exchanging.
We visit the lush orchards and are treated to a delicious tropical fruits.
After the market, you then visit noodle and rice paper producing family.
Then coming back to Saigon.
