How to get there

By flights: there  are many daily flights to Phu Quoc from Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho on all airlines: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Jestar

 

By speed boats 2.5 hours: boats depart from Rach Gia or Ha Tien on Superdong  boat or Victoria boat, Ngoc Thanh

By flights:

there are daily flights to Nha Trang from Hanoi,  Ho Chi Minh,

Danang on all airlines: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways,

 

By train: on  Vietnam Railways Reunification Express, there are many options from Ho Chi Minh, Danang, Hue, Hanoi

 

By bus: on Open buses from Ho Chi Minh, Dalat, Hoi An, Danang

There is no flight to Mui Ne

 By bus: there are many buses for tourists from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm, duration from 5.5 – 7.5 hours -220 km from Ho Chi Minh city

By train: there is one train Ho Chi Minh – Phan Thiet (6:40 – 11:22)

By flights: There are some flights to Con Dao from Ho Chi Minh city or Can Tho on VASCO

There is no direct bus or train to reach Con Dao island from the mainland

By ferry:

From Ho Chi Minh: you have to move to Vung Tau (90 km from Ho cHi Minh city) to take a ferry to reach Con Dao, duration: 3.5 – 4 hours

Less crowded, the island is surrounded by thick jungle with beautiful walks and easy to see wild life.

 

Water is very clear and clean

Price in Nha Trang is fairly cheaper than other islands.

Price in Mui Ne is fairly cheaper than other islands.

Rain is very insignifican all year around

 

The least touristy, water is very clean, rich life under the water, the best place for diving.

From June to September, visitors can see the turtle nesting.

Even in the rainy season, the rain is not significant, only 1-2 hours in the late evening or early morning.

Cons

Prices on islands are slighly more expensive than Mui Ne or Nha Trang as many things must be shipped from the mainland.

Night life is limited

Nha Trang is an urban area, very touristy, lack of nature andlaid-back atmostphere.

Hassle from the hawkers are very common

Red tide in July will be harmful for swimming and water sports.

There is no flight to get Mui Ne.

Con Dao’s accommodation is limited to a dozen hotels and 1 international standard luxury resort 5*, one 4* resort

Night life is very quiet,  there is hardly a thriving street food scene, there are very  few restaurants
